I will believe the writer of the blog on ...Bruce,

I will believe the writer of the blog on the NY Times before I will believe your comments.

The sources he quotes at the end of the article aren't all on the Internet, for example Hay's private scrapbook. Just because you don't see this claim elsewhere on the web, doesn't make it untrue.

As for a "professional" historian, one need not be a professional to be a good or excellent historian. The leading Lincoln expert in the country is Harold Holzer. He is not a professional historian, i.e. not degreed in history.

Tell you what. Review the author's sources and disprove what he wrote. Then I'll be happy to change the post.Geoff Elliotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07861071117040254491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3831255577594231117.post-11111039316714803412011-02-19T20:27:29.939-05:002011-02-19T20:27:29.939-05:00That "Cincinnati Bomb Plot" never happen...That "Cincinnati Bomb Plot" never happened. The author of that opinion piece is not a professional historian, and not everything you read in the New York Times is necessarily true.

Doubt me? Try googling "Lincoln Cincinnati bomb plot" and see what you get: That erroneous piece and you quoting it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3831255577594231117.post-78267783307962859612011-02-13T20:14:59.717-05:002011-02-13T20:14:59.717-05:00I have followed your blog for some time, but these...I have followed your blog for some time, but these past few days have been great stuff. As a high school history teacher whose classes just "elected" Abraham Lincoln to the Presidency, I am going to recommend to them to start following the journey as well and to comment about it in their daily blogs. A great way to bring history alive to them. Thank you for your hard work and diligence.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12735217443116180857noreply@blogger.com
